For 5 days now has been subjected to a ddos attack. An open letter by the editor-in-chief (Eldar Murtazin) has been posted here. A $10,000 reward has been offered “to any individual or group of individuals who can provide documented information on the mastermind of this attack.

This is the site that i frequent most often to get news on new phones as well as share views and ideas about the Nokia N95, so i am hoping that the site comes back online soon The site and forums are now back online 🙂 (24/08/07)

After tinkering with setting up a webserver on my computer, I thought it would be a good idea to host a calendar on it. I couldn’t get everything set up properly and while googling I came across a website that hosts ical calendars free of charge,

You can sign up for a free account, using which you can host a number of calendars (I believe that there is no limit but not 100% sure) and you can set them to be private or publicly visible. As well as hosting the calendar you get a html interface to display the calendar. The site uses a early version of phpicalendar. Why it is not a more recent version I don’t know, I did email the owner but I got no response. Although there is no way of editing the calendar via this web interface, any calendar software that supports ics files should allow this. Personally I am using Mozilla Sunbird but Outlook will also work.

Windows Live Writer

After finding BlogJet the other week, I have now discovered Windows Live Writer which does essentially the same thing but has the added bonus of being totally free! 😀

There are also a number of plugins available which amongst other things allow me to insert the currently playing track.

I’ve got a job! :D

I went for an interview at Queensbridge School this morning, and i’ve just had a phone call offering me the job! I’m really pleased as it should be a great opportunity and as it’s only for a year, i should be able to find a graduate placement for next year. 🙂

Playing with BlogJet

I’ve been playing with BlogJet which is a little application in which i can write posts, rather than having to do it online.

It also has a neat little function where i can insert what music i’m listening to at the time, see: Now playing: Various Artists – Wires

There’s nothing that makes me go “Wow!” about it but it should come in handy when i want to write posts but i’m not online at the time.
